Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

MasterYourExam (“we”, “us”) provides self-study exam-prep courses on our learning platform and operates the website at masteryourexam.ca. We protect personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law.

2. Information We Collect

Waitlists

When you join a waitlist, we receive your WhatsApp number, your name as shown on WhatsApp, and the exam you named. We use your message only to tell you when your course opens.

Free trials and enrolments

• Your name and email address — your email address becomes your login on our learning platform;
• Your WhatsApp number and your messages with us;
• Interac e-Transfer confirmation details (sender name, amount, date, and reference) or a record of a cash payment. We do not collect card details;
• Your course activity on the learning platform — for example, practice attempts and results — so we can deliver the course and show you your progress.

3. How We Use It

• Course delivery — to create your learner account, give you access for your trial or access period, and show you your results;
• Communication — to answer your questions, send your login details, and tell you when a waitlisted course opens;
• Records — to keep the payment and tax records the law requires.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.

4. Sharing & Service Providers

• Amazon Web Services — hosts our learning platform in Canada (ca-central-1).
• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — our messaging with you takes place on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. WhatsApp’s servers may be located outside Canada.
• Email delivery — login and account emails from the learning platform are sent through an email delivery service, which processes your email address to deliver them.
• Cloudflare, Inc. — delivers and protects our website; it processes visitors’ IP addresses and request details to do so.
• HubSpot, Inc. — we use HubSpot as our customer relationship management (CRM) system to record and follow up on enquiries. When you message us on WhatsApp, our team may log your name, phone number, and a summary of your message in HubSpot so we can respond and keep track of your enquiry. HubSpot is a United States company; your information may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States, outside Canada, subject to U.S. law, including lawful access by its authorities. Where information is processed outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.

5. Storage & Security

Your learner account and course records are hosted on Amazon Web Services in Canada (ca-central-1). Access is limited to the people who need it to run your course. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; we cannot promise absolute security, but we investigate and, where the law requires, report any incident that creates a real risk of significant harm.

6. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

• Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information;
• Deletion — ask us to delete your learner account and data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements;
• Withdraw consent — at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. Reply STOP on WhatsApp to leave a waitlist.

Message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected]. We handle every request by hand and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Cookies

Our website uses only what it needs to work. The learning platform uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. It does not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.

When you arrive on our website from a link (for example, a social-media post), we store the short marketing-channel code from that link’s web address in your browser’s session storage (not a cookie — it is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab) so we can tell which channels bring visitors, and so that code can appear in the WhatsApp message you send us. This never includes your name, email address, or phone number.

8. Retention

• Waitlist messages — kept for up to 12 months, or until the course opens and we have told you, whichever comes first; deleted earlier on request.
• Learner accounts and course records — kept while your access is active and afterwards so you can buy a course again without losing your history; deleted on request.
• Payment records — kept for up to 7 years, as Canadian tax rules require.

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
