Course 1 · Professional ethics

While preparing a listing, a registrant learns a fact about the property that a reasonable buyer would want to know before making an offer. What is the registrant’s appropriate course of action?

  1. Keep it quiet unless a buyer asks about it directly
  2. Disclose the material fact to prospective buyers
  3. Mention it only to the seller
  4. Hold it back until an offer has been accepted

Why B: a material fact that could affect a buyer’s decision should be disclosed, not held back until asked or until after an offer is accepted.
